Deliver me
I noticed yesterday that someone got to our site by typing “Lord please take away this feeling” into Google. Have the hurting in our society become so skeptical of the power of the Church to heal that they are praying to the god of Google? This should be a downright rebuke for the American Church. How dare we push the lost and the dying away so far from Christ through religion that they’re seeking help on the internet.
Who knows what this individual is going through. Perhaps they’re considering suicide, or having a hard time controlling lust or greed. Maybe they’re even struggling with homosexuality. God forbid this be a Christian dealing with this very issue! Good heavens, people. If they can’t seek refuge in the Church, where will they go!? We’re pushing a hurting generation into the arms of the very spiritual forces that are attacking them.
I think it’s time to open our eyes and see the hurting ones that the Lord has put in our path. Lord Jesus, open my eyes to those around me that need help and salvation. Give me the words to say and the deeds to do that will bring this generation into alignment with your Kingdom purposes on the earth. Jesus, let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and let this generation rise up to fulfill the destiny for which you placed it on the earth. Lord, awaken us to the need that faces those around us every day. Give us YOUR principles and YOUR strategies, and teach us a new authority as we strive to be seated with you in heavenly places. And Lord, in the Name of Jesus I pray that you would raise up laborers on the earth that are after your heart. Amen. Let it be so!
