God, have mercy on our nation

March 5, 2008 by Mark

I’ve heard the news I’ve dreaded this entire year: Mike Huckabee has dropped out of the GOP. With McCain as the Republican candidate, it looks like we’re going to have a Democratic president. This is terrifying news, as Hillary Clinton’s lead in both Ohio and Texas gives her a good chance of securing the democratic vote. Nothing good can come of this. I am truly in the pains of travail for my nation.

God, have mercy on our nation. Put godly leaders in charge of our nation, and reinstate the principles of holiness and integrity upon which this nation was founded. Lord, bring revival to our land, and overturn the legislation of demonic oppression in our land. Jesus, stop the blood guilt of our nation. Save our children, and bring our nation into alignment with your Word. Speak clearly to the hearts of men and women all across this nation. Let your character be seen in this nation, and let your glory fill the earth. Make yourself known, and establish yourself as sovereign over the nations of the earth.

Most of all, Lord Jesus, we say come back soon. We long to dwell where your dwell, and to be a part of the Kingdom of Heaven. We long to worship you and live under your leadership. Jesus, the Spirit and the Bride say “come.”

We cry mercy

March 4, 2008 by Mark

“Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.”

-Matthew 5:7

Many cry for mercy when they face judgment. Few show mercy to others when no one else is watching. However, the eyes of the Lord are everywhere, and “judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful.” (James 2:13)

How do we show mercy? First, we must forgive our brothers and sisters when they wrong us. Bitterness and unforgiveness are cancer to our soul, and kill our spirit man. Having grace with others, and loving them as ourselves - this is the greatest commandment.

Secondly, we must have mercy with others for who they are. This means hanging out with the tax collectors and sinners of our day. Jesus loved the unlovely, and went out of His way to heal and save the lost.

Let us walk out our faith and have mercy on those who dont deserve it. We need to lay down our own conceptions of what we feel our rights are, and start living the way that Christ lived. Try to go out of your way to show mercy today.
