To this John replied, “A man can receive only what is given him from heaven. You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Christ but am sent ahead of him.’ The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete. He must become greater; I must become less.

The Lord is searing my heart that enough is not enough. My day to day is leading me into a spiritual lethargy that will be the death of me. I was meant for so much more. The Lord has spoken many promises over my life. I know that none of them are void. The Lord will fulfill every word spoken. He is faithful to his promises. He gripped my heart this weekend. I was fully willing to work my nine to five for 40 or so years and then retire, but I know now that the Lord has more planned. Oh Jesus, lead me and guide me by your Spirit. Open my blind eyes and unlock my deaf ears. Allow me to be used by you as you have willed, and let you love and life shine through me. Lord, I belong to you as a bride belongs to her beloved. Let me find my joy in hearing your voice, and let me be as a messenger sent from your very courts, oh God.
